Save the Date!

On Saturday June 9th we will be having our 3rd annual Love Winnipeg Community Barbecue.  We will be cooking up some hot dogs and other goodies, as well as opening our doors to the Free Room for a little longer than usual.  The food is free and there will be face painting and games so we encourage you to come on down for a visit.  The bbq will run from noon until 2:00.

Soccer Camp

The Soccer Camp organizers have had to unexpectedly change their plans this year.  Details will be forthcoming as soon as they are finalized; please keep checking back.

Exciting news for all our members with internet access. You can now access our Sunday sermons online. Just go to www.churchcloud.com/bethelchurch and look at the links on the right-hand side. You will see links to some of our most recent sermons that you can download and listen to. You can also listen to any number of sermons from churches all across North America. It's a very interesting site; we encourage you to look it up and explore all it has to offer. Thanks to Scott McIntosh for setting this up for us.

The Youth Are Back for the Fall!!

As hard as it is to believe, summer has slipped away and fall is rapidly approaching. With that is the return of our youth program. This group is open to all students in grades 6 to 12 and usually meets every Friday night to have fun, learn about the Lord, put that learning into action, and just generally be goofy. We are a fun, weird, crazy, loving and welcoming group of kids who love to meet new friends. We encourage you to come check us out. Our activities for the month and the instructions to go along with them will be posted on this blog so if you are looking for details on what's coming up, check in here often.

May Activities:

May 4th, 7:00 to 10:00      Games Night

While some of the older kids are gone on a missions trip to Grand Rapids, the rest of the youth will be meeting at the church to play board games.

May 11th: 7:00 - 10:00      Fear Factor

How far would you go to overcome your fears? Come on out and find out.  Last person standing gets an awesome prize!  RSVP if you're coming and if you are bringing a friend.

May 18th: 7:00 - 10:00      Operation Mobilization & Bowling
We will meet at the church at 7:00 pm.for a presentation from the team from the LOGOS HOPE (that's the ship that Naomi will be working on for the next couple of years).  After that we will head over to Polo Park for some bowling.

May 25th: 7:00-10:00 Delta Groups

We will be meeting at the church to continue our study of the Beatitudes to see what it means to "hunger and thirst for righteousness".

Sunday, May 27th: 7:00 - 10:00 L.I.G.H.T. Worship Night
Join us for another evening of awesome worship, teaching & fellowship. Excellent refreshments will follow. Please bring a small donation of $2 if you are able, to help with some of the costs. Students will meet at ACC Church (760 Charleswood Road) at 7:00pm. Pick up is at ACC at 10:00. Contact Ray if you need a ride.

What's Going on at Bethel

Here are just a few of the things we have going on that might interest you:

• Youth: Our youth program is open to all students in grades 6 to 12. They usually meet at the church on Friday evenings. The first youth even of the fall will be on Sept. 19th. Details of the youth program can be found in their own post above.


• Sunday School: Beginning on Sept. 11 we offer Sunday School classes for all ages, from toddlers right up to adults. We meet at 9:30 Sunday mornings. This fall we will be offering the following classes for adults:
• an in-depth study of the book of Mark by Stonecroft Ministries
• an in-depth study of the book of Romans      The last day of Sunday School until fall will be June 17th.

• Potluck: On the third Sunday of every month we host a potluck immediately after the service. This allows us time to fellowship with each other and get to know one another better. We would love to host you for lunch. We encourage you to come out and partake of the wonderful food and sit down and chat with us. Leave the cooking to us; no need to bring food if you are a visitor. Our first potluck of the year will be on Sept. 18th.


• Free Room: In our basement we have a room dedicated to providing clothing and small household items to members of our community. If you need clothes, we want to help you. One Saturday a month we open the doors of the church to the neighborhood; you are welcome to come and have a look at what we have to offer. Our free room dates for the rest of the spring are: May 12th and June 9th.

On September 11th, we will have our Sunday School kick off and our regular fall hours will be as follows:
